Adoption Update 11/6/05

This will not take the place of the mailer, but I'll also use this space to provide updates for folks who frequent the internet. Also, I'm hoping to figure out how to use this blog so when Scott and I are in China I can provide updates while there too.

The Latest Scoop:
No real updates other than receiving our "official" Log In Date of 8/30/05. Although our agency tells us the LID (log in date) is not important, it does seem to play a role in the timeline associated with receiving your referral. In addition to receiving our LID, our agency advised that due to the amazing number of adoptions being requested through China, we should expect to wait 8-9 months (from our LID!) for our referral, moved up from the 6-7 we were told when we started this journey. So, we are thinking we'll be headed to China in the Summer versus the Spring (you travel approx. 2 months after referrals)

Dad are we psychic or what?
On a related note, I had a dream the other night, which plays right into the timeline info mentioned above. I drempt that our baby ("Jade") and I were grocery shopping and having a great time. The baby was about 18 months old, we were chatting and laughing a lot and just really enjoying each others company. The entire time we were together I didnt know if the baby was a boy or a girl (I thought a girl) or what the baby's name was. When we got home, I let the baby know that I had such a great time together but that I wanted to know what "she" was (boy or girl) and what to call her, she told me she'd let me know on "five twenty five". The dream was vivid and so was the voice that said "five twenty five". So, maybe our "gotcha day" will be May 25th. Sound familiar Dad? You did the same with Suzie!

Preparation:
Although I took the week off to start the baby's room, I've done nothing and will probably do nothing till the new year :). Oh, Scott and I did look at cribs and gates, and argued, then looked at paint and argued some more, so we called it quits before we got into a brawl in the parking lot of Home Depot. Geeze theres a lot of baby accessories out there, didnt see any rubber baby buggie bumpers though. I think as far as getting "stuff" is concerned, we'll get the basics (crib, diapers, car seats) now but wait till we get home with Jade to see what she really needs.

So that's all for now, will post more as we get more info.

Love to everyone!!!
