Here are the pictures from the weekend. The most important one is the picture we took with Ed the owner of 57 Cedar Street, he owned the house for 43 years and took great care of it.It was in perfect condition, he left us a phone, an answering machine, and even left on the satellite service so we could watch TV over the weekend. It was great to meet him and he took Scott on the grand tour of the house.
Jan, Scott and I worked like dogs moving everything in and setting it all up. You can see pictures of every room but the basement (the basement was CLEAN). I also took some shots of the neighborhood, up the street, down the street etc.
We did take some time off yesterday to drive around and admire the foliage. It was spectacular. We ran into some "Wacky Chickens", saw a lot of horses, cows, some pigs and a ton of fuzzy catipillars.
I don't have the patience to figure out how to get the captions next to the pictures. But here's some other info - Cedar Street is a dead end steet, at the top of the street is an artsian (sp) well, I think our water comes from there. The water tastes like water, can you believe it? No chlorine, no odor, no slimy feeling on your tongue etc., just plain ol' quench your thirst water. Did I mention the air? It smelled like Christmas Trees all weekend, no foolin.
We didnt meet any neighbors, we think they were hiding from us. We also found out that Gilman is a "village" inside of Lunenburg and that most locals think it's the pits. WE LOVE THAT because it isnt, it's a treasure. We are only 20 minutes from Littleton (I thought it was further) where you'll find Walmart, a beautiful Shaw's Supermarket (with wine!!), Home Depot, Staples, TJ's etc. And, we are 30 minutes from St. J with a bustling down town area, complete with a museum, planetarium and a prep school.
It was a busy weekend, Bean was a pain in the butt and pooped in the car on the way home, but life changed for Scott and I this weekend cuz one of our dreams came true!! NOW . . . come on Jadie-Q make our other dream come true!!
Love you all!!
